Capture One Ultimate Tool Kit for Photographers

Part One

Alex Svet of AlexonRaw.com has developed an interesting addition to Capture One 23 that adds increased flexibility in changing colors along with adding color looks (styles) plus dynamic symmetry grids.

If you decide to purchase this or any other AlexonRaw.com CaptureOne products, you can save yourself 10% by using the Code CD10.

This blog post will focus on how to shift colors easily.

If you want to shift a color in an object, first step is to go to the color editor and with the color picker, select the color you wish to shift, then go up to the three horizontal points in the Color Editor tool. Click on it and choose, Create Masked Layer from Selection. This will create new layer above your background layer.

The next step is to right click on the Adjustment Layer (suggest you rename it to Color Shift or whatever you prefer). Right-clicking pulls down a menu > Apply Adjustment from Custom Styles > Color Shift Styles. From there you can choose which color you want to shift to. Capture One masks can be refined by erasing and limiting the luma range.

Selecting color range in the color editor – first step to creating a mask.
Shifted to blue – you still see the faded paint and color differential.
Shifted to green
Now, purple/magenta

Another approach is to shift all the colors in one go.

Neutral starting point. This image is from a recent Smithsonian Magazine shoot. Leica M10 with a Zeiss 50mm Planar.
Shifted green
Shifted red
Shifted yellow

All of these shifts were made without adjustments. You can refine the areas impacted by using a smaller luma range. You could shift the sky color without impacting other parts of your image.

I’ve used AlexonRaw.com styles for years. The Ultimate Tool kit is a good way to take advantage of the extended capabilities of Capture One 23. Check out Alex’s video on YouTube about C1 23 and the tool kit.

The Ultimate Tool Kit is available for $69.99 (US Dollars) from AlexonRaw.com.

If you decide to purchase this or any other AlexonRaw.com CaptureOne products, you can save yourself 10% by using the Code CD10.

I’ll write a follow-up blog post about the Color Looks and dynamic symmetry overlays. Included in the Ultimate Tool Kit is a monthly set of upgrades/freebies for twelve months.
