New York City Skyscrapers

Black and White Personal project

What started out as a test for image stabilization within my Fujifilm GFX 100s camera ended up as a new personal project.

These images were shot last fall, all over Manhattan with a my Fujifilm GFX 100s, the 45-100, 23mm, 30mm and 50mm lenses atop my Kenyon 4×4 gyroscope. Stabilization was turned off on the 45-100 and in the GFX body.

I also shot a series of images with stabilization turned on and the gyroscope still running. (wanted to see if they counter-acted each other)  They did in a few frames and I got some weird blurs out of it.

So for now, I’ll continue to use my gyroscope and rely upon the stabilization as a back-up if the Kenyon 4×4 fails.

All of these images were processed in Capture One and I used the Fujifilm black and white film presets. (plus added  luma curves to each image)

I’ll post more from this series on my website in the projects section.   I’ve also posted the series on Behance.
