Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone out there in photo land.

This photograph of the Maroon Bells/Snowmass of Colorado was the image I chose for my Christmas card this year.

It was shot on Fuji Velvia film in 1991. It is an outtake from a Smithsonian Magazine story I shot on Lighthawk, an group of pilots that fly for environmental groups.

After photographing a large group portrait, I went to work photographing the pilots and aircraft. This image was shot from the rear of a Maule aircraft from the cargo section. (If memory serves me correctly). Yes, the door was off, it was freezing cold and I shot about a roll before I climbed back over the rear seats and tried to warm up.
